       Technology Recycling Program   

    The Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Association is proud to announce a Technology Recycling Program.  We are partnering with Best Computing Services to provide proper disposal of this equipment.  In return Best Computing Services will make a donation to the Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Association for each technology item donated.

    Why do you need to recycle your technology equipment?  Because it contains non bio degradable and sometimes hazardous materials and metals that are not safe to be disposed of in a landfill.

    All technology equipment that is received is deconstructed and properly recycled.

    All hard drives are properly wiped clean during deconstruction for your protection from Identity Theft.

    Upon request you can receive a Certificate of Deconstruction.

    • New seafood spot - The Oceanaire Seafood Room has signed a lease downtown for the street level space of the 580 Building at seventh and Walnut (former space of Havana Martini Club).  It will be the anchor for the newly renovated retail area.  Oceanaire is an upscale chain with locations in 12 cities, including Indianapolis.  www.theoceanaire.com.

    • Portofino to Northside - Portofino Pizza has moved from Finneytown to Northside and at 1609 Chase Ave.  Open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.  513-542-5858.

    • Pizza, sub shop seats 68, employs 25- Tim Layman of Wyoming plans to open a combined Noble Roman’s pizza restaurant and Tuscano’s Italian-style submarine shop in late May.  The 1,830-square-foot eatery will be at 8457 Mason-Montgomery Road.  He plans to open a second store in late June at the Bridgewater Falls Shopping Center in Fairfield Township.  Contact: 513-204-5500.

    • Main Street Revival -Two nightclub/restaurants in the Main Street area will be opening this spring, emphasizing contemporary, bic-city atmosphere along with sophisticated food and drink.  Ocho Rios, the new nightclub to open in the former Club Clau space on Sycamore across 12th Street from Vinyl.  Mixx Ultra-Lounge will be a lounge and suchi bar, also offering a Japanese-influenced sharing menu.  They hope to open in May or June.

    • Retro Coffee Shop-It’s got free Wi-Fi access, but what really distinguishes Pike Street Press, a new coffee shop in Covington, is its dedication to old-style news browsing.  Pike Street subscribes to newspapers from around the world.  Deliveries are available at lunchtime.  222 Pike Street, Covington.  859-261-7737.

    • The original Chili Company reopens in White Oak - The Chili Company in White Oak, which has been closed for a decade, is open again.  Jim and K.C.     • More Thai, sushi -Chanaka Delanerolle, who owns Teak, Mount Adams Fish House and the Celestial Steakhouse in Mount Adams, has bought Watson Bros., the former microbrewery in Blue Ash.  He plans to open it this summer as an Asian restaurant called Apsara.

    • Brothers serving up second Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant- The site, on Ohio 28 at Miami Pointe, will open in May ‘07. A third location will follow in early ’08 in Liberty Township.

    • A New Taste at Findlay- Aunty’s Homemade Food sells frozen gourmet meals.

    • Gratitude’s will open this summer in Clifton.- Completely vegetarian, and made with local products, Gratitude’s will be at 268 Ludlow Ave. The restaurant will be the first in the area to be certified by the Green Restaurant Association. That means it will be dedicated to an environmentally sustainable operation, with toxic-free paints, recyclable materials, fluorescent lights and other energy-saving features.

    • Jaspers opened in former Mount Lookout Cinema Grill- - A Restaurant & Nightclub where patrons can showcase their talents – in an open mike forum. It seats up to 340 people and include sa large dance floor. Menu prices range from $8-$20.

    • The Blue Wolf Café is open for business in Sycamore Township- They are open for breakfast and lunch and have blue plate specials. They also do catering and delivery. Located at 10764 Montgomery Road in Duffy Square. 513-247-0198

    • Starlight new in Ramada Inn- The new Starlight Restaurant in the Queensgate Ramada Inn serves lunch and dinner. Located at 800 W. 8th Street. 513-381-4340

    • Southern Trails Restaurant and Banquet Center opened in Erlanger- It is located in the former house that Andriola’s Italian Restaurant once occupied. They serve home Southern food particularly for banquets and large parties, but is also a restaurant.     • Grandview Tavern & Grill - They will serve lunch & dinner seven days a week and will be located at the north end of Fort Mitchell Station at 2220 Grandview Drive. It will seat 136 inside and 32 outside and include a 24 seat private dining room, fireplace and TVs in the tavern, 859-341-8439.

    • Rue Dumaine will open in Dayton by Anne Kearney- The American bistro will be open for dinner Tues.-Sat. and lunch on Friday. It will be located at 1061 Centerville-Miamisburg on Ohio 725. She hoped to be open Oct. 1st '07

    • Hugo opened in the Oakley - space where Pho Paris was located. 3235 Madison Road. It serves American South food. 513-321-4846.

    • Mytho's - is opening at 100 E. Fourth St. with a capacity for 377 and a party room that can accommodate 300. The location at 410 Vine St. opened this summer and their 4th location will open in spring of ’08 in the Chiquita Building at 250 E. Fifth St. and will seat 70 people.

    • Cooking Up Fun! - recently opened at 8069 Connector Drive in Florence, KY. They have cooking classes for children and adults. Summer cooking camp is available along with daily cooking classes.     • Olives Restaurant - has opened in Clifton where Uno's and then Za was located. They will specialize in upscale-casual American fare such as steak, seafood and chicken with prices ranging from $11 to $22. It will seat 257.

    • Aromas Java and Gelato - a new cafe at 6407 Bridgetown Road is open. Gelato, an Italian dessert, has a smoother taste than regular ice cream and it healthier. They are made from real fruit. 513-574-3000

    • Nada, a high end Mexican restaurant - to be developed by Boca Restaurant Group, will replace Bella at 600 Walnut St., next to the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Seating will accommodate 173 diners inside and 76 outside. 7.11

    • Greyhound Tavern to open second location - at what used to be the Tousey House in Burlington, KY. It will be open in November 2007 after renovations.

    • The Holy Grail - has opened their second location on the west side of Cincinnati at 1278 Ebenezer.

    • Seny - a tapas restaurant will open in the former Simone’s in East Walnut Hills on October 10th, 2007. Travis Maier, the owner/chef is the great grandson of Frisch’s restaurant Inc.     • Sung Korean Bistro - is preparing to take over the former Jalapeños restaurant space at seven and Elm, downtown. Sung Oh is a former co-owner of Riverside Korean in Covington.

    • Steamboat Bagels - open in Newport on the Levee at 336 Monmouth Ave.

    • The Peapod Café - will be opening later in March 2008 in Pleasant Ridge. The owner Melanie Moore will serve a menu focusing on local and organic whole foods. It is located on the former Buster’s Pet Shop at 6227 Montgomery Road.

    • Tony’s on the River, - a new home-style restaurant with views of the Ohio opened in early July. The owner Tony DeFrancesco says, “Our philosophy is that just because you live outside the city, doesn’t mean you can’t eat well.” The restaurant is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

    • Pita Grill - will open in Tri-County Mall in September 2007. Sami Awad, the former owner of Mejana will be the owner.

    • Taz on Mason - will open in Sept. 2007 off of Montgomery Road. Mutaz Awad, the son of Sami Awad from Mejana will be the owner.

    • Mexican fast-food chain looking for Cincinnati franchisees - Del Taco, a California based Mexican fast-food chain known for half-pound burritos and strawberry milkshakes, is seeking entrepreneurs with restaurant experience and a few million dollars. They are seeking 4 to 5 franchisees for a total of 20 to 24 locations in this area. The locations are free-standing and are 2,400 sq. ft. and each is open 24 hours. They expect each one to generate $1.2 million. They have a strong presence in the West.

    • Guru India opens in Crescent Springs - Jessi Singh opened a 4th Indian eatery that will feature a lunch buffet and a full bar. It is located at 2303 Buttermilk Crossing. 859-341-5858. Open 7 days a week.

    • Apsara opens in Blue Ash - A new Thai Restaurant takes the place of the former Watson Bros. Bistro & Brewery. Apsara’s are sacred dancers who grace the walls of Buddhist temples. It is located at 4785 Lake Forest Drive and is open for lunch and dinner. 513-554-1040.

    • Skinny Legs - is scheduled to open in November on Fairfield Ave. in Bellevue.

    • CitySide Bar & Grill - will replace Captain’s Cove at 5th & Monmouth streets in Newport.

    • Jerzee’s Pub - is open in Newport at 708 Monmouth Street. 859-491-3500.

    • Noble Roman’s Pizza - to open in October ’07 in Hyde Park Plaza on Paxton Ave. The 1,900 sq. ft. eatery will offer pizza & Italian style subs. The restaurant will seat 74 and includes 16 seats outside.

    • Twist Lounge - by Jean Robert will open in November ’07 next to Pigall’s.

    • Lavomatic Café - by Jean Robert is open in Over the Rhine. It will offer sandwiches, salads and other light fare. It will seat 90 plus 40 outside.

    • Potbelly Sandwich - is open on Fountain Square and is open for breakfast serving coffee and breakfast sandwiches. It’s at 511 Walnut Street. Open from 6:30 a.m,-7 p.m. www.potbelly.com

    • The Stables - restaurant opened along US 27 in Cold Spring, KY. The site is the former Cold Spring Roadhouse, which closed in May of 2007. Banquet rooms can be booked for events. It is open for lunch for dinner. 859-781-2255.

    • The Rusty Bucket Corner Tavern - opened in Rookwood  in the former Nothing but Noodles space next to Starbucks at 2692 Madison Road, Norwood. It offers a British pub fare. 513-841-2739

    • Deadwood Saloon & Café opened in April ’07 - The bar, in the former Army Surplus store at 508 Madison Ave. in Covington, KY has a polished pine interior with a distinctly county theme.     • Raja Indian Restaurant- has opened in West Chester at 6188 Tylersville Road for lunch and dinner. 513-770-0050

    • Sixth Street Café - has opened in Dayton, KY at 603 Sixth Ave. and is one of three restaurants to open this fall and winter on the avenue. An Italian restaurant/coffee shop called Buona-Vita and a Chinese restaurant will join them.

    • Greek Isles- located off I-75 and Ohio 129 at 7037 Yankee Road is an authentic Greek eatery that opened in Mid-July. 513-755-0600

    • Restaurant Depot - will supply food service industry at wholesale level on November 14 at 4501 W. Mitchell Ave. Membership is free but available only to restaurateurs, caterers, businesses and registered nonprofits, including churches.

    • The historic Port Union Café- on Princeton-Glendale Road is getting a makeover as Trinity Irish Pub. Plans for seating of 110, serving a mix of drinks and pub food. They would like to open by St. Patrick’s Day ’08.

    • La Cherie Bakery & Bistro - opened at 522 Main Street in Main Strasse Village in Covington and is open for breakfast and lunch. There is an outdoor dining area in front. Every afternoon at 3 p.m., they serve tea with customary scone. 859-261-8889

    • Boss Coxwill open downtown in June 08 at 312 W. Fourth Street in an 1870's building next to the nightclub Bang. Named for the notorious Cincinnati politician (1879-1916), it will have visual and culinary references to Cincinnati's pre-Prohibition past, but feel and taste modern.     • Poppy's Tavernopened February 14th in the former Dante's Restaurant and Tavern in Dent. They are located at 5510 Rybolt Road and will be open from 11a.m.-2:30 a.m. daily.

    • Riverside Cafe A Korean bakery and cafe will open next to Riverside Korean Restaurant in Covington by the end of March. Riverside Cafe will serve coffee, 10 Korean teas and other drinks, Korean desserts such as sweetened sticky rice cakes, walnut buns and other pastries. The cafe will be open weekdays from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. plus Friday and Saturday nights during dinner hours to accommodate overflow seating at the restaurant. Riverside Cafe's address is 514 Madison Ave.

    • Don Pablo’s Tri-County, Symmes Township and West Chester closed
    • Moe's Southwest Grill at Newport on the Levee closed after 2 years.
    • Mike Fink will take a long Hiatus and will return around Labor Day 08. The old paddlewheel riverboat went upriver to get a new hull, and then a complete million-dollar makeover.
